Nagpur, India: Imamwada police have arrested two suspects in connection with a robbery that took place in the early hours of August 13, 2024. The incident occurred around 12:30 AM when Ujwal Manoj Khote (26), a resident of Gangabai Ghat, Corporation Colony, Nagpur, was returning home with his friend, Aditya Ram Khorgade, after having dinner at a relative's house in Tukdoji Square.

The two friends were riding on Aditya's Jupiter scooter (MH 49 BU 6965) and were on their way to Aditya's sister's house in Ganeshpeth. As they were travelling on the public road between VR Mall and Baidyanath Square, within the jurisdiction of Imamwada Police Station, two suspects stopped them and attempted to snatch Ujwal's watch. When Ujwal resisted, one of the suspects picked up a cement block from the road and hurled it at him. Fearing for his safety, Aditya fled the scene, leaving his scooter behind.

The suspects then assaulted Ujwal and forcibly stole Aditya's Jupiter scooter, valued at ₹30,000. Ujwal quickly informed a nearby police patrol vehicle, and the police responded promptly, taking Ujwal to Medical Hospital for treatment.

Based on Ujwal's complaint, Police Sub-Inspector Sachin Bade registered a case against the suspects under sections 394, 335, and 379 of the Indian Penal Code at Imamwada Police Station. The police immediately launched an investigation and, using the descriptions provided by Ujwal, identified and apprehended the suspects, Sahil Sanju Dinka (20) from Kapla Basti, Imamwada, and Akash Bhikuramji Dongre (23) from Vakilpeth, Imamwada.

During interrogation, both suspects confessed to the crime. The stolen Jupiter scooter was recovered from their possession, and the police have arrested them. Further investigation into the case is ongoing.
