The moment has come for us to concentrate on a diet that can support better brain function. According to a new University of Cincinnati study headed by Dr. Russell P. Sawyer, the MIND diet can help strengthen the brain and enhance memory retention.
There is more to the MIND diet than meets the eye. It combines two carefully thought-out diets: the DASH diet and the Mediterranean diet. Mediterranean-DASH Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay is referred to as MIND. This diet includes a meal that promotes brain health.
Everything you need to know about the MIND diet-
- Leafy greens like spinach and kale, colorful vegetables, complete grains, fish or poultry, a handful of nuts, a scattering of berries, and a drizzle of olive oil are all part of the MIND diet, according to the study.
- Foods that are thought to improve brain function are included in the diet. Additionally, it limits the inclusion of foods that are bad for the brain. It is advised to stay away from fried foods, red meat, pastries, and sweets.
- The good news for those who occasionally indulge in alcoholic beverages is that a glass of wine each day is permitted under the diet.
