On April 9, Nagpur, Maharashtra, celebrated Gudi Padwa, the Maharashtrian New Year, with great excitement and zeal. People joyfully cheered and danced to traditional music as the holiday was greeted. On the first day of Chaitra Navratri is observed as "Gudi Padwa."

Participating in the Nav Varsh Abhinandan Samiti-organized Shobha Yatra was Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. He declared, "We are celebrating Gudi Padwa 500 years after Lord Shriram was crowned in Ayodhya, which makes it very special." A new phase of cultural rebirth has now started.
