This year, India took home a major Grammy: "This Moment," the album by Shankar Mahadevan and Zakir Hussain's band Shakti, won Best Global Music Album. In addition, the group includes violinist Ganesh Rajagopalan, drummer V Selvaganesh, vocalist Shankar Mahadevan, and guitarist John McLaughlin.
Ricky Kej, a Grammy-winning Indian music composer, thanked the band by posting a video of their award speech live on stage. Kej posted the video and said, "SHAKTI wins a Grammy!!!" on his official X account. Four talented Indian musicians win Grammys thanks to this record! Simply wonderful.
