India wins the Maruhaba Cup with a silver medal

At the Maruhaba Cup, a team competition in the Asian Surfing Championships 2024 held on the scenic Thulusdhoo island in the Maldives on Sunday, India defeated Chinese Taipei and China to win the silver medal.
Just one day prior, India had achieved its first-ever surfing quotas at the Asian Games. During the Asian Surfing Championship, top surfers from all over the continent competed in a team event called the Maruhaba Cup.
India won the silver medal by defeating many formidable opponents. With a total score of 32.16, the Indian team—Kamali P, Ajeesh Ali, Srikanth D, and Sanjay Selvamani—took first place in the Heat 2 semi-final.
With a team score of 24.13, the Indian team placed second in the final against the finest teams in Asia. China (22.10) and Chinese Taipei (23.93) came in third and fourth, respectively. Japan achieved an outstanding score of 58.40 to win the gold medal.
