Iron Materials Stolen from Koradi Power Plant, Two Arrested and Three on the Run

Two individuals have been arrested for stealing iron materials from the Koradi Power Plant, while three accomplices remain at large. The theft occurred early on 9th February 2025, with police recovering stolen goods worth ₹37,400.

Nagpur, India: Police have arrested two individuals in connection with a theft at the Mahagenco Koradi Power Plant, while three accomplices remain at large. The theft occurred on the morning of 9th February 2025, when a group of thieves was spotted stealing iron materials from the plant using two mopeds.

Jayant Kumar Vinayakrao Bhatkulkar, a security officer at the plant, reported the incident after the suspects threw stones at security guards when confronted. Security guard Shubham Bhosale immediately informed the authorities, leading to a police response.

During a patrol near an Anganwadi on Panjara-Koradi Road, the police spotted the suspects carrying the stolen iron materials on a Honda Activa and a Yamaha Pleaser.

The arrested individuals were identified as Arjun Ashok Laskare (19) and Raju Bhaurao Bodke (56), both from Koradi, Nagpur. Meanwhile, three accomplices—Manish Wasnik, Shubham Jadhav, and Rahul Dukre, all residents of Mahadula, Koradi—managed to flee the scene. The police seized the stolen materials, worth ₹37,400, along with the two vehicles.

A case has been filed under BNS  Sections 379 (theft) and 34 (common intention) at Koradi Police Station. Investigations are ongoing as the search for the remaining suspects continues.
