Nagpur is set to be enthralled by 'Jaanata Raja,' Asia’s largest historical drama depicting the thrilling episodes from the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, scheduled to captivate audiences at Yeshwant Stadium from January 13 to January 15. The mega-drama, jointly organized by the Cultural Affairs Department of the Maharashtra Government, the district, and the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), is part of a statewide series of shows proposed by Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister and Guardian Minister of Nagpur district. This initiative commemorates the 350th year of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s coronation.
Directed by the late historian 'Shivshahir' 'Padma Vibhushan' Babasaheb Purandare, the drama unfolds on a revolving stage at Yeshwant Stadium, anticipated to attract over 30,000 spectators. While entry will be free, passes will be required for admission to the shows. The performances are scheduled to commence at 5:30 pm each day from January 13 to January 15. With over 200 artists, the production vividly portrays events from the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, featuring camels and horses in the spectacle.
