Nagpur, India: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Vaibhav Ashokrao Palsapure, a surveyor at the Kamptee Land Records Office, on Thursday for accepting a Rs 60,000 bribe. Palsapure allegedly demanded the money from a citizen in return for surveying land and providing updated 7/12 land records.
The complainant had asked Palsapure to survey 3.27 hectares of ancestral land in Pawangaon, Kamptee taluka, to ensure a fair division among family members. Despite attempts to negotiate, Palsapure insisted on the bribe.
After the complainant reported the incident, ACB officers set up a trap in Wathoda. Palsapure was caught accepting the bribe and was promptly arrested.
A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against Palsapure at Wathoda Police Station. The trap was conducted by PI Shivshankar Khedekar, PI Ujwala Madavi, and other constabulary staff, under the supervision of SP (ACB) Dr. Digambar Pradhan and Additional SP (ACB) Sanjay Purandare.
