Kidney fungus is the term used to describe a fungal infection of the kidneys or urinary tract. Kidney fungus can cause pain and have serious health consequences, and it can be caused by a variety of fungi.

There are several types of fungi that can affect the kidneys, according to Dr. Ayan Kumar Dey, Consultant-Nephrologist and Transplant Physician at PD Hinduja Hospital and MRC in Mahim, who spoke with HT Lifestyle. For instance, a few examples are Aspergillus, Blastomyces, cryptococcus, and Candida.
