Lakadganj Police Arrest Driver in Fatal Accident Case

Driver arrested in a fatal accident near Harihar Temple, Lakadganj; a cyclist succumbed to injuries after being hit by a speeding Hydra vehicle. Investigation ongoing.

Nagpur, India: On November 20, 2024, around 6:30 p.m., within the jurisdiction of Lakadganj Police Station near Harihar Temple in the Small Factory Area, a fatal accident occurred.

The incident involved the complainant's uncle, Palatu Kuwarsingh Nirmalkar (43), a resident of Plot No. 62, Minimatanagar, Panch Jhupdi, Kalamna, Nagpur. He was on his way to work on his bicycle when a Hydra Kiran vehicle (MH-49 BR-8392), driven recklessly at high speed by Mohammad Firoz Mohammad Nasir (23), a resident of Rajiv Gandhi Nagar near Azhari Masjid, Lakadganj, Nagpur, hit him.

The severe impact left the victim critically injured. He was immediately taken to Radhakrishna Hospital, Lakadganj, where doctors declared him dead after examination.

Following a complaint by Narendra Santosh Nirmalkar (35), also a resident of Plot No. 62, Minimatanagar, Lakadganj Police registered a case under Sections 106(1) and 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against the driver. The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is underway.
