Fadnavis Secures Higher Prices for Maharashtra Farmers, Announces Free Electricity and Key Schemes in Wardha

Nagpur, India: Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced that he requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ensure that farmers in Maharashtra receive higher prices for their soybean and cotton crops. Fadnavis also called for an increase in the duty on imported crude oil to help local farmers get better market rates. He stated that PM Modi acted promptly on the request, resulting in an increase in soybean prices.
During an event in Wardha, with PM Modi present, Fadnavis assured farmers that this season, soybeans and cotton will be purchased at prices higher than the guaranteed minimum.
In addition to supporting farmers, Fadnavis also announced that the MahaYuti government will provide free electricity to benefit the farming community. Speaking at Wardha’s Swawalambi Maidan on the anniversary of the PM Vishwakarma Yojana, he launched several key initiatives, including the e-bhoomipujan for PM Mitra Park in Amravati, the Acharya Chanakya Skill Development Center Scheme, and the Punyashlok Ahilyabai Holkar Women Startup Schemes.
Fadnavis emphasized that these projects would benefit two lakh people across Maharashtra and positively impact the lives of 6.5 lakh families by creating jobs and offering empowerment opportunities. He highlighted the efforts of PM Modi to open doors for those seeking to improve their livelihoods.
The Deputy CM also mentioned that the state is providing Rs 1,500 monthly assistance to women and reaffirmed the implementation of the Lakhpati Didi initiative to further empower women in Maharashtra.
