Nagpur, August 07, 2024 – The Maharashtra State Government has introduced a system to ensure the immediate payment of various bills through the Mahakosh system and the Bill Portal System. This initiative aims to streamline the process, making it more efficient for government offices to submit bills and receive payments promptly.
To further enhance this system, a new procedure has been implemented to ensure that retired employees receive their post-retirement benefits without delay. This is being done in coordination with the Accountant General (Accounts & Entitlement) of Maharashtra State, both in Mumbai and Nagpur. The new process utilizes e-GPO, e-PPO, and e-CPO systems under the retirement pension system.
The e-system also includes providing final benefits of the General Provident Fund (GPF) to retired employees. As a pilot project, retired Sub-Inspector Dhiresh Borkar from the Nagpur City Police, who retired on June 30, 2024, received his GPF final benefits. The authorization letter was received from the office of the Accountant General, Maharashtra State, Nagpur, on August 5, 2024. The bills were prepared through the Bill Portal System and submitted to the Senior Treasury Office, Nagpur, on August 6, 2024.
An inauguration ceremony was held on August 6, 2024, at the Senior Treasury Office, Nagpur, chaired by Dr. Ramaswami N., Secretary, Finance and Accounts, Ministry of Maharashtra State, Mumbai, to approve the first payment for Dhiresh Borkar. This new e-GPF system is expected to facilitate immediate payment of benefits, ensuring that retired employees receive their funds promptly.
