Man Arrested for Possession of Sharp Iron Sword by M.I.D.C. Police

M.I.D.C. Police in Nagpur arrest a man for carrying a deadly weapon. A sharp iron sword was seized; investigation ongoing.

Nagpur, India: In the early hours of August 16, 2024, M.I.D.C. Police arrested a man for carrying a deadly weapon in the Parvati Park Road area of Wanadongri, Nagpur. The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. when a police patrol team noticed the suspect attempting to flee upon seeing them.

The police quickly pursued and apprehended the individual. During a search, they discovered a sharp iron sword, valued at ₹200, in his possession. The weapon was immediately seized.

The accused, identified as Prashant alias Golu Vasantrao Madavi, 33, is a resident of Mahajanwadi, Gedam Layout, Hingna Road, Nagpur. He was found to have violated a prohibition order by carrying the weapon.

Sub-Inspector Kokane of the M.I.D.C. Police Station registered a case against Madavi under Section 4/25 of the Arms Act and Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act. The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is underway.
