Manu Bhaker has experience handling hate speech on the internet. The pistol shooter, who was only 19 at the time, faced criticism from a variety of quarters for her 2021 Tokyo Olympics performance.

Three years later, at the Olympics in Paris, Manu accomplished a feat that no Indian athlete has accomplished since 1900: she took home two medals from the same competition.

Manu has set numerous records as a result of her medal-winning performance in the mixed team 10m air pistol alongside Sarabjot Singh. When she took home the bronze in the women's 10m air pistol, she became the first Indian woman shooter to medal in the Olympics and the nation's first medallist since London 2012. Manu became the second Indian athlete with several Olympic medals to join badminton star PV Sindhu on Tuesday.

Manu honored the two athletes she had looked up to as the greatest in the nation during her time: Olympic javelin champion Neeraj Chopra and Sindhu.

In a video that Sportstar posted, Bhaker is heard saying, "In my time I have always known PV Sindhu and Neeraj Chopra (as legends of Indian sport), always appreciated them for their hard work." Manu continued by saying that she had even created a phony social media persona to protect Sindhu against a hater.
