Manager Mikel Arteta called Arsenal's 5-1 victory over Crystal Palace a "huge" blow, and Bukayo Saka will be out for "many weeks" due to a hamstring injury.
Leandro Trossard had to take the England winger's place after he went down halfway through the first half at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
"It doesn't appear promising. At a news conference on Monday, Arteta stated that he could not be more specific, saying, "He will be out for many weeks."
The Spaniard claimed he would have to reconsider his strategy after losing the 23-year-old, who has nine goals and 13 assists across all competitions this season. According to Arteta, Saka was "gutted" and "really emotional" upon learning the full extent of his injury.
Additionally, he disclosed that Raheem Sterling, a fellow winger, will be sidelined for several weeks due to a knee injury. Saka will return well before the season ends, according to Arteta, whose third-place team takes on Premier League underdogs Ipswich on Friday.
