Nagpur, India: A devastating fire broke out on Tuesday night around 8:45 p.m., engulfing two houses in Bhim Nagar near Hingna Road, Isasani. The blaze caused extensive damage to property, including cash, gold jewellery, and household items, and losses amounting to several lakhs of rupees.
The affected homes belonged to Umesh Vapre and Sunil Vapre. Upon receiving an alert, firefighters from the Trimurti Nagar Fire Station promptly arrived at the scene and managed to control the fire within 30 minutes. Their quick action included safely removing a gas cylinder from Umesh Vapre's house, averting a potential explosion.
The fire wreaked havoc on Umesh Vapre’s house, destroying valuables such as a television, refrigerator, bed, food grains, gold jewellery, clothes, and a cupboard, leading to an estimated loss of ₹5 lakh. Meanwhile, Sunil Vapre’s house suffered damages to clothing, ₹5,000 in cash, food grains, and chairs, resulting in a loss of approximately ₹1 lakh.
The MIDC police also reached the site to investigate the incident. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
