Nagpur, India: Renowned Bollywood actor and Member of Parliament, Kangana Ranaut, officially inaugurated the 7th season of the Khasdar Krida Mahotsav (KKM) today at Yashwant Stadium. The much-anticipated multi-sport festival, conceptualized by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, kicked off with a marathon and the Yuva Daud race.

The races feature categories for men, women, and Under-16 boys and girls. In addition, the 3-km Yuva Daud open for participants of all ages.

Dr. Piyush Ambulkar, Secretary of the KKM Organising Committee, shared that this year’s 20-day sports festival will feature 58 different sports events spread across 73 venues throughout the city. He also revealed that the event carries a total prize pool of approximately ₹1.5 crore.

However, this year’s edition will be missing a popular sport—football. Due to disagreements between the KKM organizers and the Nagpur District Football Association (NDFA), football has been excluded. NDFA officials had sought control over all football-related events, including football, futsal, and inter-school matches. However, KKM organizers insisted on involving their own trusted team members in the organizing process. With no resolution reached, the football events were ultimately dropped, leaving local footballers without a chance to showcase their skills in the festival.
