Tension arose at the Member of Parliament (MP) office in the Collectorate when Balwant Wankhade, the newly elected MP, and Adv Yashomati Thakur, an MLA, took matters into their own hands. They forcefully entered the locked office because they had not received the keys even after 17 days of Wankhade's election win from the Amravati Lok Sabha constituency.
Balwant Wankhade and Adv Yashomati Thakur were frustrated with the delay and expressed their anger to Chandrakant Patil, the Guardian Minister, blaming the administration for its negligence. The MP office, located near the entrance gate of the District Collectorate, had been locked by the District Administration during the election period to prevent unauthorized access. They took possession from Navneet Rana, the former MP, and locked the office.
After winning the election, Wankhade requested the District Collector to hand over the office. Despite his persistent follow-ups, the Planning Department failed to provide the keys.
On Friday, a day before Minister Patil's visit, Wankhade again asked for the keys. When the administration still did not respond, Wankhade and Thakur decided to act. They warned the administration that they would break the lock if the keys were not provided.
True to their word, Wankhade and Thakur went to the office, broke the lock, and took possession. They raised slogans against the administration to express their frustration.
Several notable figures were present during this event, including Bablu Shekhawat, the Amravati City President; Vilas Ingole, the former Mayor; Harish More, Chairman of the Amravati Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee; Pravin Manohar; Vaibhav Wankhade; Yogesh Deshmukh; and many other office-bearers and activists.
