In a thrilling WPL 2023 final match held on Sunday, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led Mumbai Indians emerged victorious against the Delhi Capitals by seven wickets. Delhi struggled to maintain their momentum from the group stages as star openers Shafali Verma and Meg Lanning were dismissed early by Issy Wong, and Alice Capsey and Jemimah Rodrigues soon followed.

Lanning and Marizanne Kapp attempted to steady the ship, but Mumbai's flurry of wickets reduced Delhi to 75 for seven. However, Shikha Pandey's quickfire 27 runs off 17 balls enabled Delhi to reach a total of 131 for nine.

Mumbai also faced a challenging start to their chase, losing their openers within the Powerplay. Nat Sciver-Brunt and Kaur's partnership of over 50 runs stabilized the innings, but Kaur's run-out for 37 caused some concern.
