Nagpur Accident: 67-Year-Old Woman Dies, Six Injured on Samruddhi Expressway

A car crash on the Samruddhi Expressway killed a 67-year-old woman and injured six others from a wedding party in Nagpur.

Nagpur, India: A devastating road accident involving a car coming from a wedding resulted in the death of 67-year-old Ashadevi Rameshchandra Lahoti and left six others injured, including the driver.

The injured include Rohit Rameshchandra Lahoti (36), the driver from Lakhada, Washim; Tilak Rohit Lahoti (32), Rohit's wife; Roshan Rameshchandra Lahoti (35); Vitthal Subhash Rat,hi (45) from Mantri Nagar, Latur; Dinesh Mohanlal Malani (38); and Sunita Dinesh, Malani from Murtijapur, Akola District. injured are currently receiving treatment at AIIMS.

According to the police, the group had travelled to Nagpur on Monday to attend a wedding. On their return journey, their car (MH-37/V-4333) reportedly lost control while crossing the Vena River bridge at a roundabout on the Samruddhi Expressway. The vehicle collided with the road divider, causing severe injuries to all occupants.

Hingna Police promptly responded to the scene and transported the injured to AIIMS, where doctors declared Ashadevi Lahoti dead. The police have registered a case of accidental death and launched an investigation to determine the cause of the mishap.
