Nagpur, India: A 35-year-old man lost his life in a violent family dispute in Nagpur’s Kalamna area on the evening of 16 April. The Yashodhara Nagar Police have arrested the accused, identified as Rahul Dilip Ingle (24), shortly after the incident.
The victim, Tarachand Shivcharan Prajapati, a resident of Kali Mandir Road, Gokulnagar, had been married to Jyoti Prajapati for the past 10 years. However, around a month and a half ago, Jyoti left her matrimonial home and began living with her parents near Shani Mandir in Kalamna, under the jurisdiction of Yashodhara Nagar Police.
Tarachand had been visiting his in-laws frequently in an effort to convince his wife to return. On the night of the incident, between 8:30 and 9:00 pm, he went to meet Jyoti again. During the visit, an argument broke out between him and his brother-in-law Rahul over Jyoti’s refusal to return to her marital home.
The dispute escalated quickly, and in a fit of rage, Rahul allegedly attacked Tarachand with a brick, striking him on the head. Tarachand was rushed to Mayo Hospital in critical condition but was declared dead on arrival.
Following a complaint filed by the victim’s father, Shivcharan Jamnalal Prajapati (58), the Yashodhara Nagar Police registered a case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Acting swiftly, officers tracked down and arrested the accused.
The case is currently under investigation by Yashodhara Nagar Police.
