Nagpur Crime Branch Seizes Banned Tobacco Worth Rs 1.5 Lakh
Nagpur Crime Branch's late night raid led to the arrest of a man with banned tobacco worth Rs 1.5 lakh, seized for intended illegal sale in Nandanvan.

Nagpur, India: Nagpur Crime Branch Unit No. 2 recently conducted a late night raid based on a tip off, leading to the arrest of a man found in possession of banned tobacco products valued at Rs 1,52,938. The operation took place at Plot No. 2255/26/A in Nandanvan, between 10:10 p.m. on November 6 and 12:30 a.m. on November 7, 2024.
The accused, 56 year old Gajanan Domaji Badkhal from Plot No. 48, Pandhan Road, Vidya Nagar, was found storing various flavored and scented tobacco products along with pan masala. Police stated that he intended to sell these banned substances for personal gain.
The Nandanvan Police Station has registered a case against the accused under Sections 123, 223, 274, 275, and 3(5) of the BNS. He has been detained, and the confiscated items are in police custody as the investigation continues.
The operation was successfully conducted under the supervision of Commissioner of Police Ravinder Kumar Singal, Joint Commissioner Nisar Tamboli, Additional Commissioner (Crime) Sanjay Patil, Deputy Commissioner (Detection) Rahul Makanikar, and Assistant Commissioner (Crime) Abhijit Patil.
Police Inspector Shubhangi Deshmukh and her team carried out the raid.
