Nagpur, India: Nagpur residents are experiencing the heat as the monsoon's withdrawal is delayed, leading to humid and hot weather conditions. On Friday, the city recorded a daytime temperature of 36.4°C, which is three degrees above the normal average, making it the highest temperature in the Vidarbha region.

There is no weather alert for the next three days, indicating that relief from the heat is unfortunate. According to the meteorological department, the monsoon withdrawal line has reached the borders of Madhya Pradesh. If conditions remain favourable, it could cross into Maharashtra within the next few days.

The monsoon clouds begin to retreat from Nagpur during the first week of October, but this year, the withdrawal is anticipated to extend into the second week. The weather department noted that the withdrawal line has already advanced through parts of western Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, with significant areas of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Gujarat already experiencing monsoon withdrawal.

Currently, low-pressure areas are forming in the Bay of Bengal and a cyclonic circulation is present in West Bengal, along with another in the Arabian Sea. However, no weather alerts have been issued for central India, leaving residents to cope with the unseasonably warm temperatures for now.
