Nagpur is all set for the Selection Trials of 'Khelo India'

On Wednesday, trials were held for athletes who would receive training at the Khelo India Center. The trials were held by the RTM Nagpur University Sports Department, and 358 athletes competed in all.
At the university's sports complex, next to Ravi Nagar Square, selection trials for badminton, athletics, basketball, and handball were held. Sportspeople between the ages of 10 and 18 had fitness evaluations. They were also quizzed on their knowledge of the sport they chose.
The examiners were SAI Aurangabad teachers Ashfaq Khaledi and Ashish Bannerjee. The Khelo India Center will offer training opportunities to about 100 new players. According to Dr. Sharad Suryavanshi, director of physical education and sports at RTMNU, this comprises players in the sports of badminton (16), handball (30), athletics (25) and basketball (29).
