Nagpur, India: The number of people arrested in connection with the Mahal riots in Nagpur on March 17 has now reached 135. Among them, around a dozen juveniles have also been detained for their alleged role in the violence and attacks on police officers.
Nagpur Police have said that the investigation is still going on, and more people have been identified as suspects. "We are looking into all details, and more arrests may happen soon," officials stated.
Different police teams, including the Ganeshpeth Police, Cyber Cell, Crime Branch, and Economic Offences Wing (EOW), are working on various cases related to the riots.
However, some concerns have been raised about innocent people being arrested. Maharashtra State Minority Commission Chairman Pyare Ziya Khan has asked the police to release anyone who was wrongly detained.
The police are continuing their efforts to restore peace and take action against those responsible for the violence.
