Nagpur, India- A 25-year-old man from Nagpur, Hansraj Dyaneshwar Dakhne, has been arrested after abandoning his girlfriend's 4-year-old son on a train and falsely claiming the boy had been kidnapped, according to police.
The incident occurred on Friday when Dakhne left the boy on a Wardha-bound train, pretending he was taking him for school admission. Upon returning, he told the child's mother that three men had kidnapped the boy. The mother, who had separated from her husband and moved to Nagpur for work, immediately contacted the police.
During questioning, Dakhne confessed to his actions, admitting he saw the child as an obstacle to his relationship with the mother. Police, with assistance from the Government Railway Police (GRP), found the boy at Wardha railway station and safely reunited him with his mother.
Dakhne has been charged with abandoning a child and kidnapping under the Indian Penal Code, police officials said.
