Nagpur Man Arrested in Rs 39 Lakh Fraud at Anand Nagari Sahakari Bank

Nagpur man Uttam Borkar booked for defrauding Anand Nagari Sahakari Bank of Rs 39 lakh by selling mortgaged property and failing to repay loan.

Nagpur, India: A man from Nagpur has been booked for defrauding the Anand Nagari Sahakari Bank’s Sonegaon branch of Rs 39 lakh. Uttam Yashwantrao Borkar (40), a resident of Tulshibagh, Mahal, has been named in the case filed by the Sonegaon Police.

The complaint was lodged by Yogesh Ramesh Katore, the Bank Manager from Warora, Chandrapur. According to the complaint, Borkar opened an overdraft account in 2016 under the name Om Bhavani Construction and later applied for a loan of Rs 50 lakh. He mortgaged a flat at Sai Apartment, Bhapkar Wada in Mahal for the loan.

The bank approved the loan, and Borkar deposited Rs 10 lakh. However, he failed to repay the balance amount. Upon investigation, bank officials discovered that Borkar had sold the mortgaged flat to another buyer, leading to the filing of the complaint.

The police have registered the case, and further investigations are underway.
