Nagpur Man Sentenced to Life for Double Murder of Wife and Her Lover

Nagpur, India: Kuwarlal Bharat Barmayya, 42, has been sentenced to life in prison for the brutal murders of his wife, Kiran, and her lover, Shiva alias Shivkumar Shriram Kaushale. The crime took place on July 27, 2020, in the Ajni area.
Kuwarlal and Kiran, both labourers, lived in a rented house in Kalyaneshwar Nagar. Kiran was Kuwarlal’s second wife. Shiva, who was from Kiran’s village in Madhya Pradesh, had been visiting frequently and was involved in an affair with Kiran.
On the morning of July 27, Kuwarlal found Kiran and Shiva together on their balcony. In a rage, he attacked them with an axe, killing them both. Neighbours heard the commotion and called the police.
Police, led by Senior Inspector Pradeep Rayannawar, arrived quickly, arrested Kuwarlal, and sent the bodies for postmortem. The investigation revealed Kuwarlal had a history of violence, including a previous murder conviction.
In court, Kuwarlal was found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment, along with a fine of Rs 50,000. Adv. Madhuri Motghare represented the State, and Adv. Roshni Sherekar defended Kuwarlal.
