Nagpur, India- The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has set up counters in all 10 zones to help women apply for the Maharashtra Government’s ‘Ladki Bahin Yojana’. The Social Welfare Department has made it possible for women to register themselves using the ‘Narishakti Doot App’. Dr Ranjana Lade, Deputy Commissioner of the Social Welfare Department, encourages women to use this scheme, which offers Rs 1,500 per month to eligible women aged 21-65.
Eligible women include married women, divorcees, dependents, deserted women, and unmarried women, as long as their family income is below Rs 2.5 lakh. Women working on contract or receiving honorarium can also benefit. Applicants should bring their Aadhaar card and domicile certificate. If they don't have a domicile certificate, a ration card from 15 years ago, a school leaving certificate, or a voter ID card will do.
For married women, additional documents are needed, such as the husband's birth certificate, school leaving certificate, or domicile certificate, and an income certificate. If they don't have an income certificate, they can use a yellow or saffron ration card, a copy of the first page of their bank account passbook, and an affidavit. The last date to apply is August 31.
The NMC noted that women already getting Rs 1,500 under schemes like the ‘Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana’ or ‘Shravanbal Yojana’ are not eligible for the ‘Ladki Bahin Yojana’.
