Nagpur Police Commissionerate Celebrates 78th Independence Day
Nagpur City Police celebrated Independence Day with a flag hoisting, honoring officers, and a blood donation camp.

Nagpur, India: The Nagpur City Police Commissionerate marked the 78th Independence Day with a grand flag hoisting ceremony at the Police Bhavan in Civil Lines. The event, held at 8:20 AM, was led by Nagpur City Police Commissioner, Mr. Ravindra Singhal, who hoisted the national flag in the presence of senior officers, police personnel, and citizens.
Commissioner Singhal extended heartfelt Independence Day greetings to all attendees. He took the opportunity to honour officers selected for the prestigious President’s Medal. The honoured officers included Police Sub-Inspector Akshayvarnath Jokhuram Shukla from the Special Branch, Police Sub-Inspector Gajanan Krishnarao Tendulkar from the Control Room, and Constable Rajesh Tukaramji Padelwar from the Crime Branch. Each officer received a bouquet and a certificate of appreciation from the Commissioner.
In addition, Commissioner Singhal congratulated 14 officers and personnel from Nagpur Rural who were recipients of the Special Service Medal. They were similarly honoured with flowers and certificates.
Following the flag hoisting, the Commissioner inaugurated a blood donation camp organized by Life Line Blood Bank. The camp saw enthusiastic participation from many officers and personnel who volunteered to donate blood.
Several prominent officials, including Additional Commissioner of Police Mrs Ashwati Dorje, Joint Commissioner of Police Mr Sanjay Patil, and Superintendent of Police Nagpur Rural Mr Harsh Poddar graced the event. Senior police officers, Deputy Commissioners of Police, Assistant Commissioners of Police, citizens, students, and media representatives were also in attendance, making the event a resounding success.
