Nagpur, India: Zone-1 Police conducted a late-night raid at S Bar and Restaurant in the Hingna area, uncovering an illegal dance performance involving female dancers under the pretense of an orchestra. Customers were caught showering money on the performers.
Acting on a tip-off received at 1:45 am on Sunday, DCP Zone-1 Lohit Matani led the operation. Despite the state-wide ban on dance bars, S Bar was found hosting Obscene performances with dancers reportedly hired from outside the city. During the raid, police discovered women performing inappropriate acts on stage to live music.
As officers surrounded the bar, several customers attempted to flee but were apprehended. A case has been registered against the bar operator, Jai Baldev Hirani (42), along with the manager, cashier, and multiple patrons. Materials worth ₹45,000 were seized.
The accused include individuals aged between 25 and 59, many of whom were identified as locals. Police have vowed to intensify their crackdown on similar illegal activities in the region. The raid team included API Sanjay Bansod, PSI Santosh Khadekar, and other staff, who ensured a seamless operation.
