**Crime Branch Unit 2 Nabs Accused in Nagpur Vehicle Theft Case**
Nagpur, India: Crime Branch Unit 2 officers arrested a man involved in a vehicle theft case, recovering a stolen motorcycle in the process. The incident took place when Ankit Raju Mandpe (32), a resident of Kanhfade Nagar, Wardha Road, Nagpur, reported that his locked Splendor motorcycle (MH 31 DP 2576) was stolen from outside his home around 4:40 PM.
Following Mandpe’s complaint, Dhantoli Police registered a case under Section 379 of the Indian Penal Code, initiating an investigation into the theft.
Acting on reliable information, Crime Branch Unit 2 conducted a technical investigation, leading to the arrest of Ankush Laxeshwari Tiwari (32), originally from Katara village, Rewa district, Madhya Pradesh, but currently residing in Nagpur. Upon interrogation, Tiwari confessed to the theft, and the stolen motorcycle, valued at approximately ₹15,000, was recovered.
The accused was handed over to Dhantoli Police for further investigation, along with the seized vehicle.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Detection) Rahul Makanikar and Assistant Commissioner of Police Abhijit Patil, with the team led by Inspector Chamhare, including officers Shailesh Jambhulkar, Mahendra Sadmakae, Dinesh Davre, Rajesh Tiwari, and constables Arjun Yadav and Sandeep Pandey.
