Nagpur Police Seize 59 Grams of MD powder worth Rs. 6 Lakh, Arrest Drug Peddler

Nagpur, India: On December 6, 2024, the Crime Branch’s Narcotics Control Team apprehended a drug peddler and seized 59 grams of MD powder during a raid in Nagpur. The operation, conducted between 1:30 am and 3:30 am, was carried out the Crime Branch’s Social Security Branch.

The raid took place at Manepura Chowk, located near Ganga Bai Ghat Road in the Kotwali Police Station area. Acting on tip-off, the team detained Yash Dipak Ingole, 22, a resident of the same area. Upon researcing, the police seized 59 grams of MD powder, of worth ₹6,10,000.

During questioning, the accused revealed that the drugs were from a supplier named Dhiraj Malik, a resident of Ganga Bai Ghat, Nagpur. Based on interrogation, the police have begun searching for Malik and his associates.

The arrested individual has been charged under sections 8(c), 22, and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, which deal with the possession, trafficking, and distribution of illegal drugs. A case has been registered at Kotwali Police Station, and the accused, along with the seized items, has been handed over for further legal proceedings.

This part of the ongoing operation on illegal drug activities in Nagpur was led by Commissioner of Police Ravindra Kumar Singal, Joint Commissioner Nisaar Tamboli, Additional Commissioner Sanjay Patil, Deputy Commissioner Rahul Maknikar, and Assistant Commissioner Abhijeet Patil. The raid was executed under the guidance of Police Inspector Gajanan Gulhane and his dedicated team.
