Nagpur, India: A 15-year-old girl who disappeared from home in July has been located by the Nagpur Police’s Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) after a determined 4-month investigation. The girl, whose family resides at a local construction site, went missing on July 4, later her parents filed a complaint at Beltarodi Police Station.

The AHTU team reviewed CCTV footage from bus and railway stations in search of her, however, the girl remained untraceable for months. A critical breakthrough came last week when the girl called her parents, allowing police to trace her location to Cuttack, Odisha.

Police quickly dispatched a team to track the whereabouts, using mobile phone tracking to pinpoint her location. After verifying her safety and providing essential counselling, officers returned her to her family in Nagpur. The operation was conducted by a dedicated team, including WPI Lalita Todase, PSI Madhukar Kathoke, and ASI Rajendra Atkale.
