Nagpur Police Traced 17-Year-Old Girl Who Ran Away in July

A 17-year-old girl who ran away with a young man in July has been found by the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) in Nagpur’s Tajbagh area. The girl was handed over to the Sadar Police for further investigation.

Nagpur, India: A 17-year-old girl who went missing after running away with a young man has been found by the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) in the Tajbagh area.

The girl had been residing at the Priyadarshini Women’s Hostel in Civil Lines when she left the hostel on July 7 with the man. The hostel caretaker, Jyoti Yuvnate, filed a complaint with the Sadar Police, and a case was registered under Section 137(2) of the BNS Act.

Following a detailed investigation, the AHTU traced the girl to Tajbagh. She was brought to the police station, where she was counseled, and later handed over to the Sadar Police for further inquiry.

The operation was led by Police Commissioner Dr. Ravinder Singal and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Detection) Rahul Maknikar. The successful operation was carried out by WPI Lalita Todase, ASIs Rajendra Atkale, Gajendrasingh Thakur, and other officers including Sunil Wakde, Shyam Anguthalewar, Deepak Bindane, Sharif Sheikh, Rishikesh Dumre, Pallavi Wanjari, Ashwini Khodpewar, and Vaishali Kinhikar.
