Nagpur Raids: Police Save 32 Cows from Illegal Slaughter

Juni Kamptee and Yashodhara Nagar Police rescued 32 cows that were going to be slaughtered and arrested two people involved.

Nagpur, India- In two separate raids, the Juni Kamptee and Yashodhara Nagar Police rescued 32 cows that were going to be slaughtered and arrested two people involved. Acting on a tip-off, Juni Kamptee Police raided Mohammad Taufiq Salim's house and rescued 20 cows tied up in a shed. The search for the landlord is still ongoing.

Similarly, Yashodhara Nagar Police raided the Rehmat Nagar area and rescued 12 cows from a shed, arresting Rakesh Chandan Chauhan (25) from Lal Zenda Chowk. The rescued cows were sent to Gorakshan Sabha.

Both police departments have registered cases under Sections 5(b) and 9(a) of the Maharashtra Animal Preservation Act and Section 11(1)(d) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act against the accused.
