Nagpur, India- Nagpur is dealing with increasing traffic jams and violations, with key junctions becoming major trouble spots during peak hours. The roads from Samvidhan Square to Kriplani T-point, LIC Square to Gandhibagh, Ravi Nagar Square to Wadi, and Dighori to Chhatrapati Square are now known for heavy traffic, especially between 9:45 AM to 11:00 AM and 6:15 PM to 7:30 PM, causing big delays for commuters.

Traffic problems are due to more people using personal vehicles over the past five years. From Samvidhan Square to Morris College T-point, has bumper-to-bumper traffic. At Zero Mile T-point traffic jams up to Morris College T-point, affecting Meetha Neem Dargah road. Central Avenue also faces congestion after Ram Jhula due to narrow roads, large road dividers, and poorly parked vehicles. Frequent traffic signals every 500 meters along this busy road.

Construction work on the Amravati Road flyover makes it worse, the narrow road makes it nearly impossible to pass. Last year, a speeding truck caused a fatal accident near Ravi Nagar due to narrow roads. The Ring Road in South Nagpur is also affected by pipeline work and dug-up pits, creating more traffic problems. Poorly laid paver blocks at Shatabdi Square add to the obstacles for commuters. Many residents from South and South-East Nagpur rely on these routes to get to work.

Bridge Work Near Ambazari Causes Traffic Chaos

Dismantling the bridge over the Naag River near Ambazari Dam has caused major traffic jams, making drivers frustrated during peak hours. Key intersections like LAD Square, Mate Square, Dharampeth, Shraddhanand Peth, Shankar Nagar, Bajaj Nagar Square, and Subhash Nagar Square have become traffic hotspots.

Traffic police have closed the road from Hingna to Sitabuldi via Ambazari T-point and provided alternative routes. Drivers can use routes through Gajanan Mandir T-point to Mate Square, Shraddhanand Peth Square, Abhyankar Nagar Square, and LAD Square. Other options include routes via Hingna T-point to Wadi T-point through University Campus Square to Ravi Nagar Square, and from Hingna to Sitabuldi via Subhash Nagar T-point to Mate Square, Laxmi Nagar Square to Bajaj Nagar Square, or Ambazari T-point through Ambazari Garden to University Campus Square to Wadi T-point.

For travel from Sitabuldi to Hingna, suggested routes include LAD Square, Abhyankar Nagar Square, Mate Square, and Subhash Nagar Square, or Shankar Nagar Square, Bajaj Nagar Square, Laxmi Nagar Square, Mate Square, and IT Park. Despite efforts by commuters to follow traffic directions, they still face challenges from poorly maintained roads and construction debris. Frustrated residents of West Nagpur are demanding more police officers to manage traffic during peak hours.
