Nagpur, India: In a significant crackdown during New Year celebrations, the Traffic Police arrested over 160 drivers for drunk driving across Nagpur. The highest number of offenders, 26, were caught in the Sakkardara division, while the Sitabuldi division recorded the lowest count with seven cases.
Special Campaign Across 60 Checkpoints
To ensure road safety during the festivities, the Traffic Police conducted a special anti-drunk driving campaign at 60 key locations in the city. The initiative aimed to prevent accidents and maintain public safety by targeting drunk driving and other traffic violations.
DCP Traffic, Archit Chandak, emphasized that the operation's primary goal was to reduce accidents and protect public safety. He also acknowledged the cooperation from citizens, which helped maintain smooth traffic flow during the celebrations.
