Nagpur, India: A Nagpur-bound bus overturned in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur district early Sunday morning, resulting in the death of three people and injuring 33 others. The private bus, operated as Ram Rath by Purple Travels, was carrying pilgrims returning from Ayodhya after visiting the Ram Temple.
The accident took place around 4 AM near Ramanpur Ghati under the Bargi police station limits. The bus had started its journey back to Nagpur at 3:30 PM on Saturday and was expected to reach its destination by Sunday morning. Unfortunately, the journey was cut short by the tragic incident.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the driver may have dozed off or was driving too fast, causing the bus to lose control and overturn. The Ramanpur Ghati area is known for its sharp turns and winding roads, making it a risky route, especially at night.
The three people who lost their lives have been identified as Shubham Vijay Meshram (28) from Vishram Nagar, Amol Chandrabhan Khode (42) from Manewada, and Malmma (45), wife of Santhappa, from Medchal, Hyderabad.
The 33 injured passengers and crew members suffered minor injuries. They were immediately taken to hospitals in Lakhnadon town and Jabalpur city for treatment. Authorities are closely monitoring the condition of the injured and investigating further to determine the exact cause of the accident.
