Nagpur's Pink e-Rickshaw Scheme Empowers Women Through Self-Employment Opportunities

Nagpur, India: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has urged women in Nagpur to take advantage of the recently introduced Pink e-Rickshaw Scheme by the State Government, which aims to create self-employment opportunities for women.

The scheme ensures safe transportation, as these rickshaws will be run exclusively for women. Highlighting the importance of the initiative, Dr Abhijeet Chaudhari stated that women should take advantage of this scheme.

Municipal Commissioner Anchal Goyal is in charge of making sure the scheme runs smoothly with help from the Women and Child Welfare Department of the NMC.

The scheme prioritizes women of Maharashtra with a family income below Rs 3 lakh, including widows and orphans. Eligible applicants should be between 18 to 35 years old and must have a driving license.

The selected women will receive training along with a PSVA badge. They will also get financial assistance covering 70% of the vehicle cost, with a repayment period over five years.

Important documents required are Aadhaar, PAN, domicile certificate, income certificate, bank details, and driving license. Dr. Chaudhari has appealed to women to apply and avail themselves of this opportunity.
