Nagpur's Temperature Drops to 8.2°C, Coldest in Vidarbha on Thursday

Nagpur records its coldest temperature of 2025 at 8.2°C, with Vidarbha cities experiencing a sharp dip in temperatures. The winter chill is expected to last until January 14, causing discomfort across the region.

Nagpur, India: On Thursday, Nagpur recorded the coldest temperature of 2025 so far, with the mercury dropping to 8.2°C. This marked a significant 2°C drop in just 24 hours, making it the third lowest temperature of the winter season. The lowest temperature recorded this winter was 7°C, reported on December 15, 2024.

Other cities in Vidarbha also experienced a sharp dip in temperature. Gondia recorded 8.4°C, Brahmapuri 8.5°C, and Wardha 9.6°C, all falling into single-digit temperatures. Akola, Amravati, Bhandara, Buldhana, Gadchiroli, and Yavatmal reported temperatures around 10°C, while Washim saw the warmest night at 13.4°C.

The daytime temperatures across Vidarbha also dropped below 30°C after several days of heat. Gondia and Bhandara recorded the lowest maximum temperatures at 27.2°C, while Nagpur's maximum temperature reached 28.1°C.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted a slight rise in minimum temperatures by 2-3°C starting Friday, but the cold weather is expected to persist until at least January 14. The ongoing chill is causing discomfort for residents, as the region continues to experience unseasonably cold conditions.
