Dr. Karan Rajan, a surgeon at the National Health Service (NHS) in the United Kingdom, frequently posts health advice on Instagram. He just shared a story about Sophie Richards, a woman from the UK who was diagnosed with endometriosis. She uses her Instagram feed, The Endo Spectrum, to chronicle her health journey.

Dr. Rajan has provided advice on quickly getting rid of bloats based on one of her bloating videos. “Some 'natural ingredients' can help reduce the symptoms of bloating, but your best bet is first to figure out what's causing the bloating in the first place,” he stated.

1. Peppermint oil reduces bloating and gas symptoms- It contains menthol, an anti-spasmodic substance that relaxes the smooth muscles in your intestines to relieve bloating, cramping in your abdomen, and gas.

2. Ginger works very well for bloating- Ginger boosts digestive enzymes and accelerates symptoms of stomach emptying. Preventing food from remaining in the stomach for an extended period, lessens bloating.

3. Powdered psyllium husk works well- In the intestine, psyllium, a soluble fiber, absorbs water. It creates a gel that lessens bloating and encourages frequent bowel movements.

4. Probiotics balance gut flora, which reduces bloating- By regulating and maintaining your gut flora, certain probiotic strains, such as Bifidobacterium infantis, might lessen bloating by essentially lowering gas production at its source and bacterial farts.
