Nagpur, India: The Ninth Armed Forces Veterans’ Day will take place at Headquarters Maintenance Command, Vayusena Nagar, Nagpur, on January 14, 2025. This annual event honors the service and sacrifices of India’s veterans and marks the retirement anniversary of Field Marshal KM Cariappa, the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army, who retired in 1953.

The day serves as a tribute to the dedication of armed forces personnel who devoted their lives to protecting the nation. It also provides a platform to address issues faced by veterans and fosters collaboration between the government, the public, and veterans themselves.

This year’s event will be attended by Mr. Nitin Jairam Gadkari, Hon’ble Minister of Road Transport & Highways and Member of Parliament, along with other dignitaries from the military and civil sectors.

To support veterans, various government agencies, including DIAV, DAV, SPARSH, DNV, ECHS, PSAS, PDAS, banks, and Service Welfare Organizations, will set up assistance desks at the venue. Approximately 1,200–1,500 veterans from the Army, Navy, and Air Force are expected to participate.

Veterans can register for the event by contacting 7086499141 or through Zila Sainik Boards (ZSB), the Air Force Association (AFA), Directorate of Indian Army Veterans (DIAV), and Directorate of Naval Veterans (DNV). Attendees are requested to carry valid ID cards and arrive at the venue by 9:30 a.m.

The celebration is a heartfelt acknowledgment of the unwavering commitment and sacrifices of India’s veterans, embodying the spirit of “Har Kaam Desh Ke Naam” (Every Effort for the Nation).
