India- The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) announced that there will not be trials to choose India's Olympic representatives in 2024, in yet another reversal of course in its quest for stability.

The WFI maintained that this was an isolated exception and that it shouldn't be regarded as a pattern for the future. But all of the grapplers headed to Paris will have their physical condition checked at a training camp and a Ranking Series match in June.

The WFI allowed room for dramatic last-minute additions, stating that wrestlers who were deemed unfit could be replaced by trials conducted prior to July 8, the deadline for entry submissions.

The six quota winners—five women and one man—will travel to Paris without going through an additional selection process, it was revealed following the Tuesday executive body meeting.
