The state government was given notice by the Bombay High Court's Nagpur Bench to submit a response by January 6. The notification was sent out on Wednesday in relation to the bail request made by the former minister, Sunil Kedar.
It was the District Sessions Court that denied Kedar bail. Because of the Rs 153 crore Nagpur District Central Cooperative Bank (NDCCB), Kedar is incarcerated. Kedar appealed the Sessions Court's ruling to the High Court. In the Rs 153 crore NDCC Bank scandal, Kedar was found guilty and given a five-year prison sentence by the Court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate.
At first, he had gone to the Sessions Court to ask for both bail and the sentence to be overturned. Still, this scam's reach is enormous. In these circumstances, reports from NABARD and the Reserve Bank have been submitted.
His bail plea and his request for a sentence suspension were denied by the Additional District and Sessions Court on the grounds that granting him bail would send the incorrect message to the public given the significant losses that farmers and investors have experienced as a result of this scam.
