Nagpur, India: The Crime Branch Unit 4 raided an online cricket betting den in Shilpa Society, Beltarodi, and arrested six people, including a Nepali national. The police seized items worth ₹7.60 lakh during the operation.

The arrested suspects are Dinesh Lokchand Wardhani (42), Jaishankar Nandkishore Singh (26), Sunny Anilkumar Jaswani (24), Vishal Kanhaiyalal Banwari (21), Tanula Amritlal Guruvani (29) from Seoni, Madhya Pradesh, and Giriraj Pitbahadur Khanna (32) from Nepal.

Police said the accused had been running the betting operation for a long time but had no criminal records. To avoid being caught in Madhya Pradesh, they moved their activities to Nagpur.

Dinesh Wardhani rented a duplex in Shilpa Society, lying to the owner that his son was studying engineering in Nagpur and needed a place to stay with classmates. The house owner, who lives in Manish Nagar, believed him and rented out the property.

The police are investigating further to find more connections in the betting racket.
