Pune, India- In Pune, two doctors from Sassoon General Hospital were arrested for tampering with the blood sample of a teenage driver involved in a Porsche crash. Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar said the doctors switched the teen's blood sample with another person's to hide the fact that the teen was drunk during the accident.

The crash happened on May 19 when a speeding Porsche, driven by a teen, hit a motorcycle, killing two IT professionals. Initially, the teen was granted bail but later sent to an observation home due to public outrage.

The arrested doctors, Dr. Ajay Taware and Dr. Shrihari Harnor discarded the teen's blood sample and replaced it with another person's. This was discovered during the investigation, leading to their arrest for tampering with evidence.

The police are adding more serious charges, including one for causing injury through dangerous driving, which can lead to up to seven years in prison. The crime branch is handling the investigation.

The teen's father, Vishal Agarwal, and his grandfather, Surendra Agarwal, were also arrested. They allegedly pressured their driver to take the blame for the accident by offering money and making threats. Initially, the driver claimed he was driving, but it was later revealed that the teen was the driver.

Charges of kidnapping and wrongful confinement have been added against the father and grandfather. The driver was reportedly confined and pressured to lie. His wife freed him the next day, and he then told the truth to the police.

Defence lawyer Prashant Patil argued that the driver stayed at the house by choice and was not threatened. However, the police say the driver was coerced.

This case highlights serious issues of corruption and manipulation. The investigation is ongoing as more details come to light.
