Nagpur, India: The Purvai Institute of Dance is set to dazzle audiences with its Dwitiya Nrutyapanam – the 2nd Annual Day Celebrations on 1st February 2025 at 5:30 PM. The event will take place at the iconic Suresh Bhat Sabhagruha, Reshim Baug, Nagpur, promising an evening rich in tradition, artistry, and storytelling.

The celebration will showcase mesmerising Bharatanatyam performances by the institute’s talented students, highlighting the beauty and expressiveness of this classical dance form. The centrepiece of the evening will be the much-anticipated dance drama "Mahishmardanam", depicting the legendary tale of Goddess Durga’s triumph over the demon Mahishasura.

Directed by Gurus Ku. Purva Gangakhedkar and Ku. Vaishnavi Joshi, the performance will bring together intricate dance movements and emotive storytelling. Guru Ku. Purva Gangakhedkar will portray the fierce and divine Mahishasuramardini (Goddess Durga), while Ku. Rupal Ukey will take on the role of the formidable Mahishasura. Their performances promise to capture the essence of power, devotion, and the timeless struggle between good and evil.

Adding to the evening’s grandeur, Shri Mahesh Tiwari will anchor the event, guiding the audience through the cultural journey with his compelling narration.
