Rachna Chokkar, a 2015 batch IRS officer, has been appointed as the new head of the Enforcement Directorate's sub-zonal office in Nagpur. She will be replacing Sanjay Bangartale as the deputy director. Chokkar's appointment is notable as she is expected to be the first woman officer to lead the ED office in Nagpur.

This development comes as part of a significant reshuffle within the Directorate of Enforcement, which has seen the appointment of fifty IRS and IPS officers. Among them, seventeen have been assigned the role of Deputy Director, while the remaining forty-three have been designated as Assistant Director. These officers were previously serving in positions under the ED, CBDT, and CBIC at Level-10, and as per the order by the President of India, they will now assume their new responsibilities within the ED.
