Ramita, a rifle shooter, excels in the quality field

Ramita Jindal placed seventh in the Olympic 10m air rifle competition in Paris.

At the 38th National Games here, Paris Olympics finalist Ramita Jindal made a significant impression by winning the 10m air rifle qualification with an incredible score of 634.9, surpassing Korea's Ban Hyojin's world record of 634.5.

Ramita, who placed seventh at the Olympics in Paris, hopes to take advantage of the situation in Thursday's final, even if it won't be recognized as a world record.

World Cup winner Shreya Agarwal and Olympian Elavenil Valarivan were also included. The women's 10m air rifle qualification at the Maharana Pratap Sports College's new shooting range saw fierce competition and excellent results.

Wushu won the first medal for the host state of Uttarakhand. When Jyoti Verma of Uttarakhand won a bronze in the Taolu singles tournament, the hosts had plenty to celebrate.

Manipur's Panthoi Devi and Tongbram Saya Chanu win gold and silver medals, respectively, in the competition. Jyoti, who works for the Uttarakhand police, recently took home gold in senior national championships.
